Arshad established Scottish Centre of Excellence for Dentistry in 2009. It is one of the Leading Dental Centers of the World and was also recognised as The Best Specialist Referral Practice in the United Kingdom in 2010. He qualified with commendation at the University of Glasgow in 1978 and carried out ten years of postgraduate training in Glasgow, Cardiff, London and Sweden. He was the first NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in Wales and was Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in Glasgow Dental Hospital and School until 2011 when he left to focus fully on Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry and postgraduate teaching. He has been involved in implantology since 1985 and has continued to develop his expertise in this area. He was a winner of The Creative Circles Award at the 40th Anniversary Nobel Biocare World Conference in Las Vegas, the Crown and Bridge and Implant Award at the NobelBiocare World Tour Conference in London, and the Senior Clinicians Award at the NobelBiocare World Conference in Las Vegas. He is an active member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, a leading international voice for the discipline of fixed prosthodontics, where he attends the annual meeting in Chicago featuring world-renowned speakers.

He has given over 500 lectures and courses in the UK, Europe, North America, Hawaii and The Far East. He is currently providing lectures and hands-on courses in crowns, bridges and implants. He was a Visiting Professor to the Department of Health and Medical Services in Dubai. He was also an examiner in Dental Surgery for The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He has served on the Specialist Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Surgeons and has been a Council member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He was the President of the British Dental Association West of Scotland Branch for the year 2014-15 and President of the Glasgow Odontological Society for the year 2016-17. He has published numerous papers in dental literature.

He has topped the polls in Dentistry Scotland 2017 magazine being recognised and voted as the Number 1 most influential person in Scottish Dentistry. Continuing his outstanding achievements, Arshad was presented with the Business Excellence Award at the Scottish Dentistry Awards in April 2018. This exceptional award recognises and honours remarkable success of leaders in the dental industry.

Outside of work, Mr Ali is an avid golfer. He also enjoys football, spending time with his family and friends and driving nice cars.
